Birthday Celebration

Good Monday morning everyone!
One of my dear friends is celebrating a birthday on Wednesday and I will be taking her to lunch tomorrow after a shopping visit to a yarn shop.  We are both knitters and she is a beach lover, so I made this card for her.  As inspiration, I used the CR84FN32 colours pic and this is what I came up with.
I started with an aqua card front (Coredinations) and this great colourful letter print paper (October Afternoon).  I rounded 2 of the corners and sponged the panel with SU crumbcake ink.  I used 2 new circular dies from MemoryBox that I bought from Ellen Hutson and layered together.  I then stamped a SU heart that has French printing and a floral image, cur out, sponged and coloured.  I have had these great cocktail picks with shells on them that I bought at Anthropologie last Summer and finally using one of them.  The Celebrate sentiment is from the SU set Fancy Phrases and I stamped it onto another MemoryBox "pastry labels" die that I also recently acquired from Ellen's store.  The little charm is removable for my friend to add to a bracelet or necklace and I tied a SU Pear Pizzazz seam binding length and tied into a simple bow.  I hope she will like the card and the yarn and I know we will both enjoy the Margarita that we will have with lunch in celebration of her birthday :)
Thanks for taking a peek,
Cheers ~ Chriss

  15. Hi, Chriss! I found your blog as a result of your Moxie Fabber of the Week interview and had to come by and check out this card in its "home environment!" :) Love everything about it -- the colors, the dies and that heart! I know it must have been very special to your friend that you put so much of what she loves into the making of it! Really beautiful! :)
