Another masculine card!

Oh, I am having so much fun with the Winnie & Walter Belated Birthday challenges!  This time around I am creating for the Inlaid Die Cuts challenge from Mayuri!

Here is her fabulous card...love the colours!

I created mine with the help of the big Hi cutaway and a border from the Goldie Trims set.  I used some herringbone patterned fabric that I backed onto a white CS and set to die cut the fabric layered panel and then also a front dark grey panel.  I had absolutely no problem cutting the double layered swatch!  The Goldie trim die cuts were cut into the grey panel and removed and then into an ochre CS that I thought matched one of the colours in the fabric.  I adhered with glossy accents when I did all of the inlaying.  The extra grey cuts were put to use in between the ochre coloured ones as an overlay onto the grey CS panel for a little more dimension.  I may add a vellum black heat embossed Happy Birthday sentiment to this...
That's it for this challenge!

Winked Masculine Birthday

Onward with the Belated Birthday Bash and the challenges!
Gayatri has created a gorgeous background on her card!

Her blending is superb!
I attempted this technique to create a background for a masculine Birthday card using the Confetti cuts stamp set and some more masking.  I did have a little trouble with my blending and the tiny masks that I made with the Confetti die cuts in that my masking paper was not adhering as well as hoped (maybe I could have chosen larger  images for this technique) and I could not really work the ink blending very well, so it is a little swirly, but I think it adds a little more movement to the card overall?  I started by stamping the selected images with Memento black ink and then masked them,  I blended a few DI's of blues and purple, removed the masks and then applied WOS white and clear to the stars, WOS black to the other shape.  The big Happy was die cut twice from black CS and the top 3rd layer is an enameled looking black CS.  I added a vellum banner that I stamped/black heat embossed the birthday word from The Big, The Bold & The Happy and wrapped around the front panel.  The little star confetti sequins are from my last order from W&W.
I will be using this technique again and making more backgrounds!

Here is a close up...can you see the winking?

Thanks for stopping in!

Winnie & Walter Gold + W/C

Continuing with the Winnie & Walter Belated Birthday Bash challenges today and next up for me is the Gold and Watercolour challenge that Heather Hoffman  has presented us with!  Here is her lovely card...that gold and sparkling embossing on the vellum is gorgeous!

Here is mine.  I used the In Bloom Anna's Flora & Addie's Garden images to create a bouquet with some masking and embossed in gold on my W/C paper and coloured with my Kuretake GT paints.  The sentiment is from The Big, The Bold and The Happy, stamped with Versa Mark and then gold heat embossed.
I added some tiny gold splatters to finish.
Thanks for visiting and have a great Day!

Framed and Off the Edge...

Doesn't that sound like a mystery title?  Well, it's just an intro for my card that I made for one of the Winnie and Walter Belated Birthday Bash challenges going on right now!

Kelly has challenged us to make an "Over the Edge" card.
Here is one that she made for her challenge featuring the beautiful Faceted Heart!

I am using one of the tulip images from the In Bloom: Addie's Garden set and stamped and masked the tulip head to make a frame.  I stamped in Memento Dove Gray ink and then used three of the reds from the Kuretake GT paints to mix up the different shades of pinks and fill in the colour.  The big Happy is from The Big, The Bold and The Happy stamp set...Oh, how I love this sentiment set with all of the sub sentiments and the mix of fonts!  I added 3 of the sequins from my first Winnie and Walter order.
Such a sweet treat to receive :)

Winnie & Walter Spring HELLO

Hello!
I am so excited that Winnie & Walter Stamps are celebrating a second birthday and sending my Congratulations!  They are celebrating in a huge way with quite the bash including challenges and prizes!

I made a card for Heather P's colour challenge where she is looking for a Spring colour theme of coral, aqua to turquoise and chartreuse/lime.  I was looking at my floral sets and saw the tulips from Addie's Garden and then the daisy centre made me think of...how about a Parrot Tulip?  So, I decided to use two of the stamps fromAnna's Flora (a stem and a leaf) and the daisy centre from Addie's Garden to create my coral Parrot Tulips.  Yes, just a few impressions of the daisy centre with some Abandoned Coral DI to make the tulips and then I dotted with a fine black marker to give the hint of the black fringes on the petals.  I stamped the stems and my tulip leaves are the leaf from Anna's Flora that I inked selectively.  They look exactly like tulip leaves!  I coloured the leaves with a Zig marker.
My sentiment is the wonderful hello cutaway that I sponged with DI's in Tumbled Glass, Cracked Pistachio and Peacock Feathers and inlaid into the card front making this a one layer card.  I stamped the friend sentiment from The Big, The Bold & the Happy set in Memento Tuxedo black in what I thought was the perfect little nook between the h and the second l of hello.  I love how all of the sentiments can be tucked here and there!

I am also offering up to The One Layer Simplicity challenge where Ardyth is hosting this month and looking for a one layer card with the word friend on the card.
Thanks for stopping by and as always, I appreciate your visits :)))

Time Out Sympathy

Taking some Time-Out today to play along at the current Time Out challenge with the wonderful artist, Marika!  The challenge is to CASE with a twist...I have cased, but no twist.
Her card shows her mad colouring skills that I an in awe of and even lacking these skills, or anything close to it, I just had to play along.  I started by spongeing my card front, a bristol panel, with 3 shades of purples.  I then took out my Winnie and Walter stamp sets and decided on the coneflower image and stems from Anna's Flora and stamped with SU Smokey Slate.  I coloured the images with my Copic markers.  Nothing fancy... My sentiment is from PTI and stamped in the same ink.
I am working on re-stocking my card stash and as Sympathy cards are not the easiest for me to make, I decided to put them at the top of the list.
Thanks for dropping by and I hope that your week is going well!
