Thankful for Fall

Here is my card for Crazy for Challenges number 3.  I love the sketches that Cindy has been sharing with us!  It also happens to qualify for Sharon's Stamp Simply challenge to make a card with rich fall leaves on it!  Don't ya just love when that happens ;)
The inspiration for this card (besides the two challenges) was this new oak leaf stamp that I bought a couple of week-ends ago after a monthly stamp gathering of some very special gal friends that I am honoured to be a part of.  When I was buying this petite set (it has such a cute pear that you will see in the future)I noticed it had a paper pack in the same line, so I bought it on a whim and I am glad that I did.  I used the elegant and richly coloured FDL patterned paper for the border and backed it onto some really rust.  The leaf is stamped onto ivory cs and coloured with a caramel Copic
and then I sponged really rust onto the leaf edges after I cut it out.  It took at least  5 minutes to cut out, but I don't mind cutting and I think it was worth it.  I placed the leaf on this ivory panel that I made with my Spellbinder Nestabiliies rectangle dies and I also used the tan embossing sheet to, well, emboss it.  I like that it acts like a frame for the leaf and sentiment.  The
sentiment is also from the little stamp set.  I stamped it in really rust craft and clear embossed and then used a SU medium oval punch to shape it and sponged the edges in really rust too.  The card stock that I used for this is from Papertry Ink.  It is darker and richer than SU old olive and was a perfect match to the green in the FDL dp.  I embossed it with a new CB folder that I aquired a few weeks ago.  Love it! btw  The only adornment that I added were the three little square rhinestones from Basic Grey.  Hope you like it and wishing you all a great week-end!
