Graduation for CASology

Here is a card that I am sending over too CASology for the current Graduation challenge.  I used the Ellen's Essentials Bohemian Garden dies and a PTI tag die to make a very quick feminine card.  Easy Peasy!

Thanks for taking a peek!

A Card Challenge First!

Happy Monday!
I am still amidst dust and drilling and sawing here...
I have a card today that I am sending to
The Challenge.  It is their 32nd week and my very first time playing!
I have been working on some graduation cards for the Co-Op grocery store and as we are in Austin, home to University of Texas with probably the largest student body campus in the US, you can imagine that some of my cards are made with the burnt orange colour.  I find it quite a masculine colour, but have paired with a deep pink here on this little owl with chalkboard sign. The background is dry embossed with these dotted circle rings and I placed 3/4" pink circles (my polka dots) on the left side to add a little interest.  My owl, manufacturer unknown, was stamped onto linen textured card stock from my stash and coloured with the now discontinued SU alcohol markers. I also used the orange on the chalkboard edges that were originally yellow and then heat embossed a PTI sentiment that I cut "hooray" off of with a pearl embossing powder.  The big YOU die is from SSS and I was lucky enough to win this last Fall.  I placed two teensy black brads for the owls eyes and she is looking up at the "did it"!  I will also be sending over to the Monday challenge over at SSS where the ever popular Anything Goes challenge is, well, going on :)

Hope that you are having a great start to your week!

Thanks for stopping in and taking a peek!

It's a MoxieFab gift card holder for the graduate!

Hi there!  Hope that Spring has sprung in your neck of the woods...it already feels like Summer here...not complaining, but it has been a little humid for yard and garden work.  I will deal with that anytime over snow...just saying;)
I made this card with gift card holder inside for the MoxieFab challenge going on here.  With graduation-moving on season almost here, I know a certain someone that deserves a card and gift.
I have had these patterned papers for several years and I still love the contemporary design and ease of using together, especially for a male.  I don't often create masculine cards, so here is something a little out of my comfort zone.  I used the card positioning Systems sketch, #214 to combine these two challenges. I did some stitching on the top front of the card, just above this great Hugo quote, a Unity stamp.  More stitching on the triangular pices and across the narrow strip.
Here is the inside of the card.  The left hand side is finished with the large contemporary polka dot gray and cream paper (rounded the corners) and I made the gift card holder (the GC to be placed vertically) with a PaperTreyInk die for a library card pocket in the complimentary Chevron pattern.
That's it for now...have a wonderful day!
