I quadruple dipped !

When I saw Michele's Muse card, I knew that I wanted to make a few for the neighbours on our cul-de-sac that have young children.  As I don't have any kind of an elf image, I resorted to my only Santa stamp (my first purchase from PTI) and combined the inspiration from Michele's card and this week's CAS(E) this Sketch from Chrissy Larson.  My sentiments are from PTI and Happy Little Stampers (Merry Christmas).  I love how the three different fonts play together!
I stamped my Santa onto patterned paper and cut out his face!  The same Santa image was stamped twice, once onto a dry embossed swirly EF and another onto cream CS.  On the cream card, I dotted his eyes with a Sakura sparkling black pen and used a very pale peach Copic marker (one of the 00) for his cheeks.  This was layered under the red patterned "open face" Santa image.  The beard and mustache were cut from the curly dry embossed card and I added Ranger white enamel to coat all whiskers.  The same enamel was used on his cuffs, hat surround and pom pom end.  I was going to add a gift package from the same set to his giving "hands", but went with a folk art shaped wood heart and coated with clear wink of Stella.  The bottom corners were rounded and that was that!  I just have to package up another batch of peanut brittle and lemon shortbread cookies to deliver to the families.

Also sending over to SSS Monday challenge where they are asking for
Just a Pinch...my use of the white enamel.

So far, I am feeling good about the house being decorated inside and out and feel like I am almost on schedule...what am I forgetting?  There must be something!
I hope that you are having a great week and that all is calm in your little corner of the world.
Thanks for stopping by...

  3. Um, Chriss, will you let me know when one of the houses in the cul de sac goes up for sale? Thank you. You really turned Santa into a keepsake for generations to come and it is genius how you collaborated those sediments for your beautiful message. There aren't many cards that will grab attention away from your peanut brittle and cookies, but this one will!! Happy Holiday Hugs, Darnell

  7. I really love how your card turned out! It has that comfort of traditional elements, yet it is still refreshingly clean and modern. Love all the details you thought to include like the rounded corners and the sparkles here and there. I thought the heart was particularly clever and I'm so glad you shared these great techniques and ideas with us here at the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge!
