Mother's Day-Time Out #4

Hi there!
I have been busy making Mother's Day cards for a local Co-Op here in Austin that I am so honoured to be an "owner" with thousands of others and the I am the local card supplier.  I was a little intimidated with this last order (100 Mother's Day cards for the two locations) as time was quite short.  I had just returned from a week's visit to Vancouver where my daughter is currently living and had an email with the large request.  My husband and I had a blast and ate such great meals!  We saw such beauty in the forests and atop Whistler.

Anyway...I did manage to take pics of a few of the cards before I delivered today and here is one that I made based on a new to me challenge that I saw last night.  It is called Time Out and this is the 4th challenge, to case Virginia Lu with a twist of our own.  So...I worked with the same sketch, changed the colours and instead of the cool twine on Virginia's card (I love this effect) I used scraps from the PTI Doodly-Do die-cuts and placed in a cluster to represent the twine from Virginia's card . I like how this turned out, but wish that I had used a larger flower like on the inspiration card.  My little flower is topped with a pink sequin.
I have more Mother's Day cards and will be showing them in the next few days.

In the meantime, just for fun, here is a photo of me and my husband (we have been married 34 years on the 24th of May !)at the Olympic rings.
Take care and thanks for visiting!

  3. Your Mother's Day card is stunning, Chriss! It is a great CASE of Virginia's card for the TOC. I can't even imagine making 100 cards on short notice - or on long notice! You are a card artist ROCK STAR!!

I think that is a really cool picture of you two kids; you don't look old enough to be married that long! Congratulations on your 34th Anniversary coming up, and many, many more! Hugs, Darnell
