Hot summer reds (and yellow)

T
Hello again!  Hope you are having a good summery week and enjoying some sunshine.  It has been raining here in Austin and quite a bit cooler than normal for these parts, but our lakes and trees are singing!
I was able to play again today and make a card for the City Crafter Challenge blog and this weeks theme is to make a "Some like it Hot" summery red card.  This is their 12th challenge!
I also saw that Julia S. has asked us to use yellow in our cards for the Ways To Use It SCS weekly Thursday challenge.  My card is for both of the challenges (hope that's ok), so here goes... My inspiration is from this Sassafrass Lass Marmalade dp.  The pattern looks like rays of sunshine radiating from the red doily in the top left corner.  I layered this dp with a bright and rich yellow cs from the Paper Studio and then a sheet from Cosmo Cricket's Garden Variety.  I had this great Adirondack chair embellishment from Jolies and gave it a somewhat aged patina using 3 Copic markers, pearl white, warm gray#2 and cream.  I really like the colour and aging that the markers created.  The geranium stamp is a Lockhart that I bought from Ellen Hutson (my little Lockharts are growing into a large family)  When we have a "normal" summer here in Austin, geraniums are about the only thing that is easy to keep alive!
I coloured it with various Copics and cut out quickly, not my regular fussy cutting.  That is it!
Here is the geranium and chair finish close up.  I think this would be a great card to send to a friend that you are missing and I am thinking of writing inside  "sittin' here missin' you"
Thanks so much for looking,
cheers, Chriss
