Happy Friday!
I am taking time out today during my daughter's visit (she had a friend's wedding rehearsal and lunch to go to)
to create a card for the current challenges over at Time Out SSS "finishing touch" and One Layer Simplicity Challenge.
I knew that I wanted to include the optional apple "twist" for the Time Out challenge and I wanted to also keep my card to one layer. Oh, I do miss apple picking...
I started by stamping the SU
bucket and water coloured with a TH Distressed Wood DI and then stamped my apples and water coloured them also with TH Picked Raspberry and Firebrick red. The grass is from PTI's Garden Variety set. All of the stamps that I had for Autumn birthdays were too large in scale for the card, so I decided to use this older SU sentiment as I like the
font for this card. Sticking to my one layer only idea, I used a Memory Box die to cut a cloud and set that aside after outlining the edge with a SU marker. I then decided that I wanted some rays of sunlight and happy blue sky to be shining down on the bucket scene. My attempt at rays is not a good one...but it is a hand made card...right ;) I sponged the yellow and blue inks using Washi Tape for my borders. After the spongeing, I inlaid my cloud. Thinking it might need one more little finishing touch, and I will submit to the SSS Monday challenge "finishing touch", I added another water coloured apple on the grass beside the bucket that I fussy cut from several other clusters of apples that I stamped and WC for future use. This may not qualify any more for the OLS challenge...oh dear, should have left well alone :)
Have a great Friday! hugs, chriss

Shout it from the rooftop!
Hi there, here is my submission for the CASology 100th challenge-CELEBRATE!
This little guy is shouting from his rooftop so that all can hear. I am also entering this for the Magenta Stamp challenge for "School's Out!", because this little Magenta birdie(one of my favourites)is very happy for school's end and the start of Summer vacation :)
I used a Memory Box die cut branch and added a few snipped leaves from a Sizzix die. The Magenta bird was coloured with Copics to mimic the local titmouse that are around this time of year. He is usually a cardinal!
I can't remember the little birdhouse manufacturer...an old Cornish Heritage Farms stamp...I think?
I also made the speech bubble from a PTI coaster board. I just cut out freehand and rounded the corners then used a Copic to outline the edges a little. The Celebrate stamp is from Stampin' Up and I added some bracket stickers and exclamation.
Congratulations CASology and happy summer to all with children at home. Have a memorable and safe one!

Birthday Celebration
Good Monday morning everyone!
One of my dear friends is celebrating a birthday on Wednesday and I will be taking her to lunch tomorrow after a shopping visit to a yarn shop. We are both knitters and she is a beach lover, so I made this card for her. As inspiration, I used the CR84FN32 colours pic and this is what I came up with.
I started with an aqua card front (Coredinations) and this great colourful letter print paper (October Afternoon). I rounded 2 of the corners and sponged the panel with SU crumbcake ink. I used 2 new circular dies from MemoryBox that I bought from Ellen Hutson and layered together. I then stamped a SU heart that has French printing and a floral image, cur out, sponged and coloured. I have had these great cocktail picks with shells on them that I bought at Anthropologie last Summer and finally using one of them. The Celebrate sentiment is from the SU set Fancy Phrases and I stamped it onto another MemoryBox "pastry labels" die that I also recently acquired from Ellen's store. The little charm is removable for my friend to add to a bracelet or necklace and I tied a SU Pear Pizzazz seam binding length and tied into a simple bow. I hope she will like the card and the yarn and I know we will both enjoy the Margarita that we will have with lunch in celebration of her birthday :)
Thanks for taking a peek,
Cheers ~ Chriss

MFW Cosmopolitan Neopolitan
I love pink and brown together and and I couldn't resist trying my hand at this delightful Tuesday Trigger. I got out my inks and sponged the center part of my card front, stamped this sundae image from an older SU set (Sweet Treats) and coloured with Copic and Spica markers, can you see the sparkles in the chocolate brown?. I cut out and embossed with a Spellbinder curvy rectangle and sponged the edges of it with the pink on one side and the brown on the other. The Celebrate sentiment is stamped in the same cocoa craft ink and I added these resin flowers on the side to duplicate the same colour repetition. I guess there is no explanation needed for my inspiration on this card...:)
Thanks for taking a peek,
Cheers! ~ Chriss
