2 Sketches4You Old Fashioned Christmas and a flower card!

Good morning everyone! It seems a while since I have posted, but it is really just a few days! I have missed having something new to post, but I got busy yesterday after some household chores and gardening were taken care of.
I saw this sketch here on the 2SketchesforYou blog and thought this would be a great foundation for this JustRite stamp from the Old Fashioned Christmas set as the focal point. The sleigh was stamped, coloured and cut/embossed with a classic circle Nestability and I used foam to pop up over the textured Bazzill beautiful cranberry colour card stock in the blossom shape. The larger circle was stamped separately and coloured/ cut/ embossed in the same manner and popped up on a larger blossom shape in a pretty black K and Co. print. This black and white dp is probably my favourite B/W ever! I picked up the cranberry coloured classic dp last week at Archiver's, but in my haste to get the card together, I used the portion where the company name is on the back on one of the panels on the card, so I really don't know what company it is. The panels are on a Bazzill panel. The card base is Stampin' Up Mellow Moss. The corner treatment is a very old punch that I have and it makes scalloped photo corners that come out embossed to fold over the back of the corner perfectly! On these two corners, I added a portion of another stamped and colored holly and berry border and carefully cut out those tiny pieces.

My next card was created just for fun with this beautiful Cosmo Cricket Everafter
patterned paper and the detailed Flourishes daisy/echinacaea flower from a year in Flowers. I coloured with my Copic markers and cut/embossed the layered ovals. I used a length of satin ribbon under the lace border and also created a border from the Vintage Cream PTI cs with a MS arches border punch. I have some charms in my stash of stuff and really need to start using them, so I added this bronze medallion and placed an orange rhinestone in the center, to match the ones on the sentiment and the MS punched butterfly.
That is it for now. Have a great day and thanks for stopping in!

CPS 166 Love2Sew

Happy Thursday everyone!

Today's card is for the Card Positioning System sketch #166. I wanted to use the "Stitched with Love" set that is versatile and wonderful to paper piece the Dresden Plate image with pretty patterned papers. I based the colour theme on this background paper that I recently purchased called Town Library from October Afternoon. I love the green/cream and aqua combo and pieced the petals from Papertrey Ink's Green Boutique, K and Co.'s "Black and Ivory" and Cosmo Cricket's "Girl Friday".
I also used the back side of the October Afternoon dp to punch the new MS Arches border and layered it onto a piece of PTI Aqua Mist card stock. I selected some PTI buttons from my decorated jars and decided at the last minute to use some black seed beads to put in some of the button holes and then to line the top of the button border. Here is a close-up. The pretty button in the center of the Dresden Plate is a cream Jenni Bowlin button that I threaded with embroidery floss that I used a Copic marker on to try to match the Aqua colour.
That's it for now,
thanks for stopping in today,
Chriss

CPS#157 with Stitched "Flowers"

Hello everyone! Thanks for all of the nice comments you have been leaving on the little blog here, I really, really appreciate them!
Today's card is one that I made for CardPositioningSystems, sketch 157 . As soon as I saw the circles on the sketch and it is being sponsored by Just Rite, I knew that I wanted to use this Dresden Plate image from Just Rite's "Stitched with Love" set. I love each and every image, border and the fun sentiments in this set, but today, I didn't use a sentiment or border. I wanted the images to take the stage. As you can see, I paper-pieced the center Dresden Plate with a couple of K and CO. patterned papers and added a newly acquired Jenni Bowlin vintage button to the center and added a length of embroidery floss. The other two are stamped onto PTI vintage cream cs and coloured with a sand Copic marker. I cut out the plaid "petals" in the plates and curled them up a bit to create these flowers. To the center, I added a paper vintage-y rose from Prima and adhered with dimensional foam to the vintage cream panel. The panel was embossed with PTI's Tin Types embossing plate and edged with a Copic marker (the sketch end)

I placed that panel onto another panel that I created using a MS round eyelet type border that I thought went well with the feel of this card. The card front is a K and CO. patterned paper from the same pad.

Thanks for looking, I will try to have another card tomorrow...until then
Cheers!

Chriss
