SCS color challenge CC206

This is my 1st colour challenge.  I almost didn't get through it.  The colours we had to use to make a card were, more mustard, rose red and kiwi kiss.  Oh brother, a very challenging combination.  I do like the sketch I made up for it and I guess I can look at the card with one eye...
You can probably tell that I am not that "fond" of this colour combo, but then again, that's why it is called a challenge!
Thanks for taking a peek

Valentine pick-up trucks SC214, WT204

Here are some of my pick-up truck valentines.  I had a lot of fun putting these together and like how they turned out!  These are my 2 pink and green ones.

Here is my more elegant pink/black & white using pearls, tiny jewels and fancy "spoke" wheels.  I layered these buttons over the tires and added a tiny pearl in the center.  The heart was cut out 3 times and I added the tiny jewels on the black layer for a little drama.  This layering of embellishments was to satisfy the Ways to use it challenge issued from Julia S. and I thought this sketch for the week from Roxy was just the perfect fit!  I have been quite good at using this Sabrina paper pad and the beautifully matched embellishments.  Not even hoarding this line...using it!  and it's pink, oh my.  It must be the Valentine influence.  Here are the goodies used
-{Making Memories}-Sabrina line, dp, jewels, buttons
-{SU}- Loads of Love stamp set, white taffeta ribbon, basic black craft ink, clear embossing powder, black cs, pink pirouette cs
-{MS}-lace border punch
-CB textile folder

SFYTT

I have been trying to participate in one challenge a day and so far I have been able to keep up!  Here is my try at another sketch challenge (they are my favourites) from
Jen del Muro's I(heart)2stamp.
I had some difficulty with the proportions on this, at least, I don't think my proportions are ideal, but here is the end result and a close-up of the brads.
I used the Sabrina line of designer papers again and I am loving these 6" X 6" smaller patterns.  I can hardly wait for the new Basic Grey lines to be available!
Thanks for stopping by.
Cheers,
Chriss

Mojo71, another Valentine

Another MojoMonday sketch from the very talented Julee.  She provides a sketch every Monday on her blog, Mojo Monday, that I like to have a go at.  I always feel that I work a little harder on these sketches and usually like the outcome. Here is mine for week #71, very pink and green.  This is the very first time I have ever used rub-ons.  I have been wary to use them as I don't consider them a handmade art form, but these were so pretty and I have had them for over a year, so I decided to (gasp!) use them.
The card base is a rice textured Bazzil tea green cs.  I used the swirls Cuttlebug folder on a third of the card.  The dp i used for this was another coveted item from my stash, some Cloud 9 Design "Be Loved" sparkle paper that went with the rub ons.  You see, I seem to have the "whole set" syndrome at times...  The rub ons are framed with some pretty swirly brackets from Cuttlebug and pasted on and secured with Making Memories pink brads.  I also used a Cuttlebug knotted frame that I mounted the sentiment on another Cloud 9 dp in the same series and framed it with my nestabilities square dies.  The ribbon is pink taffeta from SU! Here is a close-up of the framed sentiment.  Hope you like this.  Thanks for checking in,
Chriss

Warm and Loving Hearts

Welcome to my blog :)!

This is my first post and I must say, I have been thinking about a blog for quite some time now.  It seems everyone has one and I know that I enjoy "visiting" quite a few out there.  You can see the places I like to frequent on the side bar...

Here is what I created this morning (and I must admit, it took me longer than I wish to admit) for SC213.  Sketch challenges are my favourite and I try to participate in as many as I can each week.
The stamps I used are SU! Happy Hearts and Loving Hearts, two older sets that I still like.  The ink used for the inside heart is a retired In Color, Cranberry Crisp.
Here is a close up of the tag that was stamped in SU! craft chocolate chip and then the hearts were filled with MS glittering glue and some SU! red glitter. The base of the card is very vanilla, topped with a textured Bazzil brown and then cranberry crisp.  The designer paper is from Scribble Scrabble, Betty's Collection.  I think the colours work well for a Valentine theme.  Thanks for taking a peek!
