Let the bees buzz and the birds chirp...it's Darnell's birthday today!
Happy birthday dear, sweet friend.
This is for you on YOUR day! I sure do hope that your day is filled with everything wonderful! Big hugs to you and kisses too!
To make this card I used a brass stencil that has 3 sizes of the hibiscus floral and I sponged the 3 sizes and colours with sponge daubers. I kept thinking of Darnell's sponging post and giggled the whole time that I was making this card. I totally get what Darnell was talking and feeling about sponging and blending colours! HAHA! I have been there many times my friend!
The SU hummingbird is stamped with two greens and I rotated the stamp to create the flutter for the wings. I used 2 ancient Tattered Angels mists of blue and green (funny, they don't have a mister, just a paintbrush-like applicator) in selective areas of the hummingbird. I added some liquid pearls to the stamens of the hibiscus and a few sequins finish the card off.
That large sequin at the 8 o'clock position, well, it is covering a wee smudge of the red ink from my finger, shhhhhhh don't tell Darnell!
That
Isn't that why God made sequins and dots?! Thank you so much, Chriss, for this wonderful dedicated post and extraordinary hummer card! Excellent sponging!! I can't wait to see this gorgeous card IRL! MWAH from me and Buddy the Hummer and Hammy, too! Big hugs and much love! Darnell
