Golden and berry colours

Happy Friday!  I hope those of you in the northern parts of the US stay warm and safe this weekend with the pending storms.
I created todays card for a couple of challenges.  I knew when I saw the colours over at the ColourQ challenge #280 that I wanted to make a floral something and when I worked with the sketch going on at CAS(E) this sketch,#111,  I came up with this.
I stamped some SU flowers in Versamark and heat embossed with gold, than watercoloured them using SU Blackberry Bliss and Wisteria Wonder from ink pads that I swiped onto an acrylic block and also a combination of the Blackberry Bliss and Picked Raspberry distress ink to come close to Raspberry Ripple.  I let these dry before I hand cut.  On my card front, I stamped some small leafy images from MFT Desert Garden in Versamark to create a subtle horizontal border.  I then arranged the flowers adhered and added some gold seed beads for the larger flower centers.  I die cut a Mom word from SSS once in gold foil and another in Blackberry Bliss CS and layered over each other with just a slight nudge to create the Blackberry shadow.  That's a card for the Mother's Day stash for the local CoOp grocery stores.  I know they will be wanting to celebrate Mother's Day and I hope to be more prepared for their order!
Have a great weekend!

  1. Beautiful technique for those blooms Chriss - I have the same set and never seem to use that particular stamp as I never know quite how to colour them! They look wonderful against the subtle background. Thanks for playing along at Colour Q!
