Hip and Natural One Layer

Bonjour!
Another card and a short little post today.
I am playing in the One Layer Simplicity challenge for the first time.  This is their 9th challenge!
Various stems and silhouettes from SU have seen ink today from a very long time ago and the teeny ferns at the bottom are a very old (1996) Art Impressions Stamps single from my stash.
This card is for the OneLayerSimplicity challenge that Ardyth is hosting and the theme is "Hip to be Square".  Ardyth always makes the hippest square cards!
Of course, for this first try at this challenge, I wanted to conform to the guidelines and I really wanted to make a square card.  A little out of my norm, but I do have this size envelope, and I know it will fit into a regular A2 one as well. I also masked off a square first and the scene is stamped on a very lightly sponged grey square...can you see it?
I am also offering this up for the SSS Wednesday challenge going over on the blog for STAMPtember

That's my try at a one layer..done in some of my favourite colours.

Thanks for stopping by!

Hugs, Chriss

  1. Way to go with your first entry to the OLS challenge, Chriss! I love your beautiful flowers inside the lightly sponged square on the square card base!! I'd say you have a natural kanack for one-layer card designs! Hugs, Darnell

  3. I love square cards, and this one in particular. It's all that a one-layer card should be. I like the way it's beautiful without being too girly. It would work for so many occasions.

  4. This is gorgeous (and I'm not sure how I'm so late getting here - my sincere apologies!). I love the look of the soft colours on that natural cardstock! Thanks for joining us at OLS!
