Good Monday to you all! Hope that your weekend was a good one and that you did something fun...maybe a little crafting? I was a busy bee this weekend and was able to make a few cards and visit Becker Vineyards right here in Texas. We took our adult children there for the afternoon for a wine tasting and a guided tour of the facility with some explanations on the process involved, well worth the hour drive!
a couple of the cards that I made were for some of the challenges going on over at the Moxie Fab World blog. This first card is for the Emphasize the Negative challenge, something that I have not done before (at least not knowingly) and I had fun with it! I used a PaperTrey ink daisies die on a sheet of SU Starfruit (oh how I love this colour and must admit that I am having a little trouble not using it for every card) and I was careful removing the die to preserve the upper and lower left flowers so that I could sponge the petal edges and the centers could be glued in place. I adhered a sheet of patterned paper from the Christy Tomlinson collection. I have not seen this collection name before, but it is pretty! It has a chevron pattern in it with some tiny aqua florals. The chevron in the cut out petals part shows nicely and forms circular ridges. I added some buttons for all of the flower centers and I also added a yellow felt layer to the largest flower. The sentiment is an older, perhaps retired SU from a set that I am sorry to say, I just don't remember the name to which it belongs. I also added a remnant strip of the patterned paper add some "weight" to the bottom.
For the next challenge The Chevron challenge, I Copic colored this picnic basket of Spring Tulips and cut out a strip of chevron patterned paper that I added in the bottom third of the card and adorned it with some buttons. The card front was embossed with an older Sizzix folder, I think it is called Ironworks. I am not a purple kind of girl, but I do love how rich in colour this card came out to be.
I have another challenge, the Ombre challenge that I am really trying to make a go at...
hopefully I will be able to make an entry before time runs out on April 1st!
That's it for now. Thanks for stopping by and I hope that your week is a happy one filled with Springtime weather and colour.
