Another 30 Day Coloring challenge card

Just a quick post this morning for Kathy's 30 Day Coloring Challenge.
I heat embossed some of these butterflies last week and decided to make some card fronts to place them on.  I used the Hero Arts background stamp, again, and just added some splatters and edged the left hand side with a strip of PP.  I adhered a torn vellum panel with a platinum embossed SSS sentiment with some silver metallic machine stitching.  The butterfly was coloured with Copic markers and origin of the butterfly stamp...
K and Co....I think!

Woodland Thinking of You

I made a card for the Card Concept challenge, one that I have not played with for quite some time!
The Forest Friends theme really inspired me with Fall upon us and all of the wonderful colours we associate with the splendour of the season!
I made my abstract background with the Tambi Gansai w/c paints, a nice warm colour combo that had a feel (imho) for the sentiment and dreamy fox from the sweet Avery Elle set "More Stories" that I used today.  All images and stamping are from the same set.  The terrific tree stump die is from Savvy and I love the intricate woodgrain this die gives...
I am also sending this card over to the SSS Monday challenge...Use a Stamp

Happy Sunday!

Thinking of you...

Happy Monday!
I have missed playing along with the Time Out challenges for several weeks now and can finally hop in with this luscious photo.  I just adore the colours and geometrics!  I added some sparkle to my butterflies after seeing
Jennifer McGuire show us this easy way and I decided to just line them up and sew them on with some fine silver thread that I have.  My background pattern was made with a SSS stencil and several ink colours (SU Cantaloupe, Regal Rose, Tangelo Twist and PTI Hibiscus Burst) that I sponged onto a white panel and then trimmed down. I adhered to a white top folding card base after popping up on some coaster board.  The sentiment is from Avery Elle's More Stories that I have recently purchased and fallen in love with!
This card is headed over to...

Thanks for taking a peek and I hope that your week is off to a great start!

Coral and Navy and Kraft...the Challenge

Happy Sunday :)
Such cool colours for The Challenge this week...I could not resist !
Ranger liquid platinum embossing of the K and Company? butterflies and SSS sentiment from Thinking of You 4X6 set on kraft CS that had been stamped with SU Crumb Cake ink with a very old SU background Cheesecloth stamp.  The butterflies were stamped onto PTI Vintage Cream CS, fussy cut and I had coloured with SU markers.  The center panel is adhered to a slightly larger PTI blue panel and then I decided to bring a little more of the navy colour in with a Derwent Inktense WC pencil in India ink colour.
I am also sending this over to Addicted to CAS where the cue word is Butterfly.

Tub of raspberry flowers

Here's a card that I made for the Impression Obsession Encouragement challenge.  I love sending cards to people just to let them know that they are on my mind and that I am thinking of them, whether in good times or in bad.
I made this with the IO Flower Tub C1182  stamp and a PTI sentiment.  Simply stamped and coloured with Copic markers, a couple of dies and the resin flower from Prima is a perfect match in colour!  I added the MS punched foliage.  The patterned paper is Basic Grey Indian Summer....I know it's Fall paper, but couldn't resist using because of the colour match :)
Thanks for taking a peek today,
Have a great week-end!
It's warm here and there's a Margarita calling my name ;)
I will be participating in our community garage sale tomorrow morning...not really a garage sale holder, but I have been busy cleaning and pricing various goods this last week...wish me luck in selling.  At least if I have a lot of goods left, the community center will have three charities that will take our "stuff" and distribute/sell for a good cause.

PTI Make it Monday~Velum strip sentiment

Happy Valentine's Day all!  My DH surprised me at lunchtime, came home and handed me a flower bouquet resembling our (my) wedding bouquet from almost 31 years ago :)  I feel so lucky to have the most thoughtful man!

To continue this wonderful day, I made a card for PaperTreyInk's "Make it Monday" challenge.  The challenge is to make and use a velum sentiment strip on your card.  There is a video on the website, same link as above.  I watched it and was prepared to follow Nichole's steps precisely, but I didn't have any velum tape, so I adhered mine by placing regular tape runner onto the back of the velum on both ends and wrapped around the card front panel.  This seems to have worked out fine.
The card is quite self explanatory and I will just point out that I stamped the Lily of the Valley image twice, once on the PTI vintage cream and again on the PTI white.  I cut out the white bells and used mini pop dots to adhere over the vintage cream image.  I also cut along the the lowest leaf so that I could overlap the velum strip.  Easy Peasy!
Thanks for taking a peek today, hope it is filled with unexpected surprises.

Log Cabin Big Bloom Quilt card

Happy Saturday everyone!  I am back from the great white north (Montreal) and am late to the PTI anniversary party contests, but had time to get this one in :)
The contest is to "Think Big", I am using a large button as my big and focal point.
I guess I could also say that this whole card is "big" because I super-sized the teeny quilt square, the classic log cabin pattern to design the basis of my card.  I cut the strips of the Autumn Abundance patterned paper and pieced and sewed them onto the kraft card stock base with some ivory thread.  I made a flower from the PTI Beautiful Blooms II dies (the medium sized and largest) layering and adding the button with a narrow PTI silk ribbon tied into a bow through the buttonholes.  I had inked the edges of the flower petals with a crumb cake ink.
I stamped one of the pretty Mat Stack II stamps onto a die cut Mat Stack II label in the same ink and then stamped the sentiment from the same set in PTI true black ink.  The little log cabin stamp pattern was inked in PTI true black and stamped directly onto the floral patterned paper from Autumn Abundance paper collection.
The card came together quite easily, just as I had pictured in my head ;)
Thanks for taking a peek!

Tuesday's bring Cosmos

Good Friday to all! I made a card for the Tuesday Trigger weekly category over on the Moxie Fab World blog. This week's trigger was presented to us from Nina Brackett of Crafting in Croatia. She showed us a pretty purse she had her eye on and here is what I came up with :)
A very simple card using Prima flowers that I had in my stash, some K and Co. paper scraps and the perfect Cosmo Cricket polka dot dp. I used a new MS "Quilted Edge" border punch (I like this one a lot!) on the K and Co. paper and added some floral pink rhinestones to the open circles of the punched work and some larger ones to the flower centers. A really easy card that I think I just might duplicate in some other colour combinations.
Thanks Nina for the great inspiration!
Have a great rest of the day and a good start to your week-end!
