Hi there,
I hope you are all having a wonderful week so far. I made a card for the Card Concept Challenge #5 today, a colour challenge. I was also inspired by the circular cake pops and I decided to make a masculine birthday card.
I am using a chocolate brown card base and I popped up my stamped and layered white card front. I stamped the white front circular borders in PTI chartreuse and chocolate brown with an amazing stamp set that I won from CAS-ual Fridays blog last week. It is called Amazeballs and yes, I do believe it is amazing! I am going to have much fun with this set! I have so many card ideas in my head...
After I stamped the the two sets of overlapping circles, leaving an area for the sentiment, I added a birthday sentiment from SU. I also wanted to use a border die from PTI that is a perfect chain of circles for this inspiration photo, so I went thru my stash of papers and card stocks and selected 3 and die cut them. I also added the dots from the chartreuse border to the brown border and then I snipped off some swirls from another flourish die cut to mimic the swirls on the cake pops. This is a step out of my regular comfort zone,(a masculine card and geometric patterns) but I really, really had fun coming up with this. I am going to say that this fits into the CAL concept....
As always, I truly appreciate your peeks at the blog.
