Rose coloured poppies

Happy Tuesday!
I have been playing around with Mr. Holt's distress inks these last couple of days and I have been yearning to ink of this new to me Technique Tuesday poppy.  I love that they are a true duplicate (as much as a "duplicate" and as unique as each flower in Nature is) of the Icelandic poppies that I used to enjoy in my gardens when I lived in Montreal.  The gardens always had so much colour from May to August with all of the Perennials scattered in the beds.  I do miss these pastel, paper-like blooms, June if I am remembering correctly...but this stamp provides a warm comfort.  I stamped the image onto a watercolour panel in Dove Gray Staz On ink and used the Squeezed Lemonade, Spun Sugar, Tattered Rose and Picked Raspberry to add colour to the poppies.  The background is also a watercolour card stock that I heat embossed in Ranger Liquid Platinum with a PTI border stamp.  I used the same pinks of distress inks to wash over the card front panel.  This week's (CAS)E this Sketch from Gayatri was my guide for arranging and I added a thin Liquid Platinum strip to the poppies panel.  The colours used for this card were inspired by the Inkspirations challenge Rose colours.  As I used Tim Holtz's inks in the creation of this card and the background was created with Heat embossing (2 H's), I will be sending it into the SSS Monday challenge H is for...

Thanks for taking a peek today!  I always enjoy the company :)))
