Sunflower friend

Moxie Fab World Square Sketch Challenge  Hello there!  Anyone seen any sign of Fall weather out there?  We are still roasting here in Austin.  We have set the record for the hottest summer here...ever!  Thinking of Fall always reminds me of sunflowers.  When I used to walk to school in 4th grade, I would pass by a neighbour's house that had sunflowers for us to pick the seeds!  It is such a special memory to me, all these years.
For my card today, I wanted to make a card for a friend at work that is leaving.  She is a wonderful friend and loves Fall colours, so here I go with a Sunflower card.  I decided to use the square sketch  over on the Moxie Fab World blog for the Square sketch challenge.
I started by stamping the sunflower image (Heartfelt Creations Sunflower II) right onto a piece of K and CO. dp and shaded and dotted with various Copic markers.  I cut the image out and positioned it onto a piece of card stock and cut that out too for a heavier base and added some foam dimensionals.  The card base is made with a rust coloured card stock.  I layered a smaller square of ivory under a smaller piece of a different K and CO. dp and stitched together.  All edges were sponged with crumb cake SU ink.  This front panel was adhered to the rust card base.
The sunfloer image was trimmed to a 90 degree and added to the bottom right corner, just a little over the stitched edge to create a little something something.  For the sentiment panel, I used a Label 18 and cut another K and Co. dp, stamped the sentiment in black ink and stitched the top of it right through the whole card front.  I added the Basic Grey square rhinestones and I also made these Spellbinder leaves from a piece of paper that I received flowers in a few months ago.  I kept it because I was intrigued with the lines and the thinness of the paper.I am really pleased with how the flower turned out and I just returned from giving it to my friend Jackie...she loved it too!  I must thank the MoxieFabWorld for this great sketch!
Thanks for peeking in,

Happy scarecrow DTGD11suzannejdean

Hello again!
It's so very hot here that I got my errands done early in the day and I was able to make this happy card for yet another of the Dirty Girl challenges.  I had a lot of fun colouring this happy guy and I used one of my favourite old Basic Gray papers "chutney" from the Ambrosia collection.
I stamped the Northwoods scarecrow in SU basic brown, coloured with Copics and used a petite oval from Spellbinders.  The borders were created with a strip of canvas from a rice bag and an embossed strip of blue using a CB button EF.  The little flourishes are made with punched papers and cs using the MS frond and fern punches.  EASY!

Thanks for taking a peek!

Punched and sparkled birthday cupcake

Good morning!  Have you all been busy with the Dirty Girl challenges?  I have been meaning to keep up...but daily life is getting in the way!  Anyhow...here is a card that I combined a few challenges on DTGD11juliemlacey, DTGD11Kitty747, DTGD11dini, DTGD11AndreaEwen
I started by embossing a kraft card front and placed over my pink card base.  I stamped a Lockhart daisy cupcake stamp using PTI white ink and then coloured with Copic markers.  I added glitter to the daisy centers for some added sprinkled sparkle.  I used a Spellbinder circle die, cut out and then another larger one and cut out a pink circle, mounted onto a MS doily.  I created a border using a wide EK Success punch used on a kraft strip and layered onto a SU scallop pink punched strip.  The little paper flowers were created with SU punches and I added pink rhinestones to the centers.
That's it for this morning...have to run some errands now and meet a friend for lunch.  Thanks for taking a peek!
