Orchid Thank You

Good Friday morning everyone!
Another Inchie Inkling challenge! This is #4 and I am using Basic Grey's "Wisteria" as my inchie squares and using the pretty little Lockhart Phaeleonopsis stamp that I carefully cut out and popped up with foam dimensionals. I used lace from my stash and a Spellbinders flourish that I wrapped under the piece of lace. The inchie squares are very lightly sponged with an eggplant ink to create just a little dimension.
Thanks for taking a peek today! I hope to have another post later today!

Petunia Cupcake

Hello again! I seem to have gotten a touch of a second wind and created this card for Mojo Monday sketch #136 and, a brand new challenge

When I saw Julee's fabulous sketch, I had in mind to use my beloved little Lockhart Petunia cupcake stamp with this Basic Grey Wisteria paper...well, I created this in a Jiff!

I followed the sketch quite closely, adding my sentiment from PTI at the top of the Spellbinder Label that I used and positioned to peek out under the larger print paper. I added a MS border at the bottom and wrapped a vanilla taffeta ribbon around

the front. I popped up and layered my cupcake on a circle of the same Bazzil card stock that I used for the front of the card and then onto a blossom Spellbinder shape cut out of the same tiny print found in the 6 X 6 the Wisteria pad.

I loved how this turned out, especially since it did not take me an hour to create it!
Thanks for looking, and check out the new challenge! I have it linked above.

Easy Peasy ~ Best Dad CPS 61

Good afternoon everyone! Hope you all had a good week-end and the sun is shining wherever you are!

I made a very simple card this morning for the Card Positioning sketch seen here.
The card base is SU Old Olive layered with kraft from PTI and a panel of Memory Box 6 X 6 patterned paper from the Frond pack.
I stamped the PTI tree image (from Through the Trees) in PTI Spring Moss and with a couple of sponge daubers, added some SU Always Artichoke and Old Olive to the leaves. The tree trunk was inked with Tim Holtz tea dye and I touched the edges of the branches and trunk with basic brown from SU. I cut out and popped up with dimensional foam pieces and overlapped the trunk onto this organic twine-y ribbon border. The "BEST" is from PTI Giga Guide Lines and the dad is made with some sparkly stickers that I had in my stash. I also added the frond punched in Old Olive. Easy Peasy!
Thanks for taking a peek!

Orchid plant for Mom

There is another Verve release tonight with some challenges that have been going on this week. I made this card for this sketch challenge VSAPRBP2 using the Queen Bee 6 X 6 paper pad from Pink Paislee again.
My phalaenopsis stamp is from Lockhart and stamped in Memento London Fog onto a linen textured cs and coloured with Copic markers. I arranged the different patterned paper shapes according to the sketch and used an EK Success scalloped photo corner punch for the right hand "stitched" detail, as my sewing machine was sewing great nests of thread under the card! I will have to determine what needs adjusting on her.
The sentiment is from the PTI set Delightful Dahlia.
Hope you have a great Friday!

Kioshi inchie violets

Good afternoon everyone. It is overcast and windy here today, good crafting weather! I have been wanting to make a card for the Inchie Inkling blog and here is what I came up with for sketch #3.
I really enjoyed using these Basic Grey papers from the Kioshi line for this Mother's Day card. This is a very easy card, so I will list the items in the recipe.
EK Success pierced scallop punch, MS classic eyelet punch, Lockhart cupcake stamp, coloured with Copic markers and cut out, Kioshi papers cut in various size squares and arranged and tiny flowers and geometrics from a sheet of Kioshi that I cut out and arranged on the top left square. The sentiment is from SU and it is cut out with a classic oval Nestability and layered onto a mega scalloped Nestability. Very, very easy and fun using these tiny images and shapes. Great sketch Lisa!
Hope you have a great day, and, thanks a bunch for visiting!

I keep making wedding cards!

Good morning! It is a beautiful sunny and warm morning here and I can't wait to get out in the garden. The weeds are calling ;)

For the first one I used Card Patterns Sketch #60 again and this beautiful Pink Paislee patterned paper "Queen Bee" 6 X 6 paper pad. Love these colours and patterns and this was a really easy card to make using Spellbinder dies and an EK Success border punch. I added a sentiment that I stamped from the SU Fancy Flexible Phrases set and added a length of very vanilla taffeta ribbon over the scalloped borders. I also added 3 yellow paper "straw flowers".

For this second one, I used the same sketch and a variety of papers. K and CO (for the black bottom panel), MM for the circular and square and the green is Pink Paislee "Bayberry Cottage" The stamped mousie couple is another stamp from Stampavie entitled "Mice Kissing". I stamped the image twice, one on a vintage white cs from PTI and cut out just the tulip and mice part and again on a MM patterned black and white from the older Sabrina pack and I cut out the tulips to paper piece them. The mice were coloured with Copic markers and I popped them up on the "framed" center. The sentiment is from the same Fancy Flexible Phrases set and I used Spellbinder dies to cut these. I added a Sabrina ribbon around the front of the bottom panel and also used a couple of MS punches to create the greenery.

The last card uses the DCWV line of Cafe Mediterranean 8 X 8 paper (the glossy teal) and the whole mice couple is stamped, coloured and popped up on another piece of DCWV paper. I colored the image with Copics and also paper pieced these tulips with a scrap piece from the Sabrina line (I think)
The sentiment is the same and I added 3 tiny pearls to it and sponged the edges of the smallest mega scalloped Nestability die. I made the scalloped borders with an EK succes punch and the SU border punch was used for the black. All of these were layered and then a wide piece of white lace on top and finally the framed image.
Hope you have a wonderful day and thanks for taking a peek today!

Resting up...

Hello again,
I know, 2 posts today, what's up with that? Well, I was so anxious to use this new Stampavie stamp that I bought from Hope Stamps Eternal (I actually got another mousie stamp too and I don't think that it will be too long without getting inked up ;)
This card is for the Card Patterns Sketch60, found here. Julia S. is offering up a very lovely prize! Good luck to all!
I stamped the image on white and coloured with Copic markers and then used a circle Nestability die to cut out. I stamped the image again on a Basic Grey Lemonade scrap from the 6 X 6 size and paper pieced the hammock. Cute lady bugs one. All the rest of the papers on this card are from the 12 X 12 Lemonade pack.
I added some buttermilk Spica pen on the daisy centers and the mousie eyelid and nose. It is obvious that mousie's whiskers are a little thick...my fault.
There is stitching around the circle, I am gaining a little more confidence on this little machine that I am using, but it is a totally different feel from my big ole Singer.

I have not added a sentiment yet to this little one, but I was thinking of using something like "Hope you are resting up and feeling better" Any suggestions?

Thanks for visiting!

Vervalicious Delightful and Delicious

Love my coffee! Anyone that knows me, knows THAT! When I saw this latest challenge from Julee over at the Verve forum, I knew I really wanted to participate!
I decided to make a small project for me to look at in my craft room. I have kept it very neat since the reorganization in January and February and I am quite happy to report on that :)
I started with this little poly resin frame that I picked up at Michael's a few month's ago for $1.00. It is a nice deep teal colour and I used the DCWV line of equally richly coloured pattern papers from the Cafe Mediterranean line. I think I love every sheet of paper in this 8 X 8 pad.
I started by stamping two of the cups from the Delightful and Delicious set in Versamark right onto the patterned paper and sprinkled with Zing Teal ep
and cut them out. I did the same with the fabulous sentiment from the D & D set and used a Spellbinder Label die to cut out. I then used a sponge dauber to ink around the edges with Versamark and dipped into the ep and heat to set. I adhered this to a square piece of pp and placed in the frame. I added the little cups to the outside of the frame with some dimensional foam.
That is it. The hardest part of this little project was taking the picture of it because the frame has a plastic mat glued on the inside front, so it was shining up the pic quite a bit.
Have a great day and thanks for looking!
ps as summer approaches, I indulge in iced caramel macchiatos from Starbucks as a special treat, otherwise, I am a hot coffee kind of girls and brew a couple of pots a day!

Cheers!

My inchie bird couple

Good morning everyone! Still on the wedding kick and I made an inchie card for the Inchie Card Sketch #2 over on the Inchie Inklings blog! Oh how I love to use these tiny images :) This sketch was perfect for the card I had in mind (after I turned it on the side ;)! I like how

this card has a playful with a touch of elegance look to it and I love the neutral grey/yellow & creamy white colour combo. For some reason, I always tend to create wedding cards with grey in them. The birds are stamped, cut out and I used a buttermilk Spica pen on her flower and a pearl in the center and added black Spica to both of their wings. Quite hard to see in the photo, but sparkly in real life. I had so much fun making this and I am really looking forward to other inchie challenges!
The other card that I created is a sketch I made up as I created the card, just playing around with the Nestie pieces as I cut them. The background was created with the Damask CB folder and the two scallop borders were created with EK Success slim border punches. I used the SU Together Forever set...again. What can I say but when I like a set, I tend to hang onto it and use it a couple of times a year :)
Both cards use "La Creme" mat stack...I guess you can tell that I really like this one, and the paper flowers on both cards are from the Wild Orchid Crafts shop in the UK.

Here's a close-up of the border detail. Have a great day and thanks so, so much for stopping by again!

Wedding Day Woodcuts

Hello everyone!

I just made a couple of wedding cards for the Card Patterns Sketch #59. I have kept both cards very simple and neutral in colour and used the same SU woodcut flower from the "Together Forever" set. Pearls were placed in the centers of the flowers and just below the PTI sentiment from Delightful Dahlia.

Mojo134 Anniversary/Wedding Birdies

Good morning everyone! Another card for you using the Mojo sketch for this week, #134 and a Hero Arts Cutie Pie couple!
Here are the ingredients that I used to make this;
DCWV "La Creme" mat stack dp
PTI Vintage Cream cs
Hero Arts "Two Birds" stamp
Quickutz "Retro Diamonds" EF, Spellbinders Mega Scalloped oval die
Copic markers, Spica pens from set B, EK Succes punch, pearls, rhinestones, ribbon from Michael's and metal flower brad

I used the QK folder directly on the front of the card, cut the creamy yellow dp panel and another slightly larger dark gray panel, adhered them together. I then made a border from the same dark gray paper with the EK Success punch, adhered to the rectangular panels, cut a strip of the flocked dp, and wrapped the ribbon around to the back of the panel, glued to the card and placed the metal flower brad on the ribbon with a dimensional foam piece.
I cut another flocked piece of the dp(slightly more narrow) and used the scissors to snip around the almond shaped flocked areas and added that to the front.
The birdies were stamped in black and the wings were coloured with Copic marker and Spica pens touched the eyes and definition patterns on the wings. I cut out and added the pearls and rhinestone to her and adhered with dimensional foam to the Mega Scalloped Oval nestie. Added the coloured and cut out hearts too from this same stamped image. I think they are an adorable couple!

I think they are an adorable couple and this would be a cute Anniversary or Wedding card.

Thanks for visiting today. I hope your day will be happy and filled with gentle Spring weather!

Sew Rite Spring Tulips

Hello again today!
I wanted to post this card, before I missed another deadline...

Here is my card for theJust Rite "Sew Rite"challenge, to use some sewing elements on your card. I used the same paper as in my previous post, just not cut out. I made a border from the print on the other side of this K and Co. paper with a MS garden Trellis border punch and added a length of lace over that. For my focal image, I stamped (with SU basic gray ink) the pretty Spring Tulips from the Just Rite "Breath of Spring" set, coloured and shaded with some Copic markers and cut out. I chose one of the beautiful oval borders from the same set and stamped it on the same paper that I used for the trellis border and then I stitched in a pale green colour, just inside of the stamped stitched border. I adhered the cut out tulips onto the oval with dimensional foam and added
to the card front. I also added some unique buttons to the lower right corner from my PTI stash. Look closely at the two buttons on the right side, the pink one is an organic tulip shape and the green one has a tulip embossed onto it!
Thanks for taking a peek again,

I got Sketchy and went to pieces

Good Morning all! Hope that you had a great weekend and are ready for a good week ahead!
I have been trying to participate in a few challenges and made this card for three challenges, The Color Throw Down #87 (ETA I have missed the deadline for this challenge)using the Get Sketchy #33 layout and my final entry for Moxie Fab World "Picking up the Pieces" challenge. I have so enjoyed participating in the challenges and without further ado...
I knew that I have the perfect paper from K and CO. for the Color challenge and really, there is hardly any stamping in this one, just the PTI sentiment from Delightful Dahlia. I did a fair bit of cutting out the lacy doilies and a leafy branch, all of
which I arranged according to the sketch on a card front that I made with a line textured piece of Bazzil that I embossed with the PTI Giga Guide Lines texture plate.
I placed the cut out flower with Mom in the center of one of the doilies on a piece of dimensional foam.
Such an easy card with these great colours and fun sketch. Thanks for taking a peek!
Hope that you have a great Monday!

Yellow Rose for Mom

Two challenges for this card
Flourishes FLLCAPR10 to make a card with a "Twinchie"
and the colour challenge below!
Hello everyone! Did you have a pleasant Saturday? It was beautiful here in Austin and I started off the day with a breakfast with a couple of stamping buddies. How fun to be able to do that every few weeks! I divied up the afternoon with making this card, watering the garden beds and pulling lots of Texas sized weeds in the part of the back yard that I refer to as the "pit".
For my card, I came across this very old sheet of 12 X 12 dp that I purchased from Hobby Lobby some years ago. It is slightly texture embossed and the vine-y leaves are quite pretty. I knew I wanted to use this for the colour challenge JFFCC6 because it had 2 of the 3 required colours. I decided to cut two narrow panels and stitch them onto a Bazzil green textured card front. That went just OK, as I am not using my big and old Singer sewing machine, but a new very small Pixie Singer. I am not quite sure if I have an opinion yet, I need to give it some practice! For my image, I stamped the lovely rose from the Flourishes series Flowers for the Year in Memento Tux. black and coloured with a few yellow Copic markers and green for the leaves. I cut the image out and stamped/colored again and cut out the top rose bud and adhered to the whole floral image using a small piece of dimensional foam. I placed the whole image on a 2" X 2" yellow piece of card stock and rounded the corners with the SU small corner rounder. I then cut out a Bazzil green textured piece of card stock using a mega scalloped oval Nestability die and embossed with the tan mat. I adhered this to the top center of the card. I then stamped the Mom
PaperTrey image onto a yellow scrap cut out with the smallest MegaS Nestie and added some leaves from the second stamped image. The elegant border was cut using an EK success border punch and I wrapped the pink SU taffeta ribbon around the card front before adhering to the card base.
Thanks for taking a peek again today!
Cheers,

Pieced flowers for Moxie and SC275

Good morning everyone! I have a couple of cards today, truly they were quick!
I am having fun with the Moxie paper piecing challenge and created this 1st card with a Lockhart knitting basket stamp that I am using today as a flower basket. I stamped directly onto a more solid colour of the Crate paper and cut the basket out, omitting the yarn balls. The flowers are cut from the Crate paper line "Brook" that I have been indulging in this week and I placed each little flower on a piece of dimensional foam. I just love the colour palette in these sheets! I used this week's SC sketch275. The panels are pierced on the sides.
The next card is TRULY a 5 minute card. It is the first time that I have used this bird and branch punch from SU. I have had it a while, but have not made time to use it, so here it is. I punched the Crate paper sheet once and then turned it over to the brown solid side and punched out another wing. I trimmed it down to a smaller scale and layered over the other wing for a little dimension. The horizontal border is a Martha Setwart punch and I stamped the PTI birthday sentiment directly onto it in SU basic brown ink. I think this is masculine enough to send to a guy?
Have a great day and thanks for taking a peek!

My pieced Play Date Cafe Tea Time card

I have finally got my timing right this time for The Play Date Cafe Challenge #24! No missing the deadline this time around. As you can see from the beautiful bouquet to the left, these are the colours we are to incorporate into our card. I used a few different papers (a Japanese cotton from my stash, BG Wisteria and Memory Box for the cups) Wisteria for the card bas front, DCWV "Latte" for the vertical panels and horizontal lighter lavender Label 3 shape. This card must hold the record for me on using different papers from different companies! Talk about "piecing" a card together ;) The fancy Tea cups from Stampington and Company were stamped directly onto the different patterned papers and cut out. I used an Xacto knife for the handles. I added some lavender gems from Bazzil and another company(cannot remember the name, but from Michael's) and the flowers are from Wild Orchid shop in the UK. The beautiful sketch is MTSC68.
Thanks for taking a peek!

My pieced Card Patterns#58 for Mother's Day

Hi there everyone! I have made another card and this time it qualifies for two challenges, this one over on the Moxie Fab World blog and Card Patterns Sketch 58. I believe that I am on time for both of these ;)
Here is the sketch that I started with. I stamped this beautiful Lockhart stamp directly onto a thin cherry veneer wood sheet that I picked up a few weeks ago at a lovely stamp store in Salado, TX and used a Label Nestability die to frame it. I then stamped the image again onto this Crate patterned paper from the Brook collection and cut out the balls of yarn. Sponged the edges with PTI Aqua Mist ink and adhered with dimensional foam over the knitting basket image.
I added deeper colour to the knitting needles with a Spica Atyou sparkling pen and that was it for the main image.
I had tried to shade the basket with Copic markers, but due to the porous characteristics of the real wood, the "bleeding" result was not exactly what I intended, so I just left the basket as is. I guess I could have taken a Prismacolour pencil to it, but I am just thinking of that now....next time!
I used another selection from the Crate paper and made my horizontal panel, stamped the PTI sentiment from Delightful Dahlias directly onto the dp and layered it onto the solid colour, which I had used an EK Success border punch on the bottom edge.
I stamped in Ocean tides and cut out the PTI flower images from the Beautiful Blooms II set and set the bottom row of flowers onto some Crate paper circles that I punched from the sheet. The top row of flowers is on dimensional foam pieces. That's it...hope you like it!

Oooops...too late!!! PlayDateCafe cream & blue

Good morning everyone! It is overcast and misty here today, great for all of those wildflowers in full bloom in this part of the state, so very pretty! I was finally able to make a couple of cards for the Play Date Cafe photo challenge that I chose to create from a colour perspective. Blue is not a colour that I reach for, so this was a challenge to me ;)
I decided that I wanted to use my new PaperTreyInk Dahlia stamp and shaded with my Copic markers for the mystical Blue Dahlia. The pattern paper that I used for the top half of this card is from the Linen Closet collection by DCWV, a very pretty assortment.
I used an EK Success slim punch to create the tiered pierced scallop edges and a Quickutz diamond embossing folder for the card front panel. The dahlia is framed on a Spellbinder Label die, the sentiment is also PTI and, as you can see, I added some blue rhinestones. Like I said, I hardly ever reach for blue, so I took the opportunity to add blue embellishments that are usually totally neglected!

My second card is a very simple one. I used PTI cream card stock for the front, ran it through the bug with a CB Damask embossing folder and aplied to a slightly larger pice of paper from the Linen Closet collection. I also used the Damask die and cut out the Damask shape with the blue paper and applied directly to the embossed portion that it matched. I used another CB die for the sentiment frame and ran a cream ribbon around the card front, tied a bow and adhered a few Prima flowers over the Mom sentiment. Easy Peasy!!

Thanks for visiting today. Hope it will be a beautiful one for you!

My Mojo Dahlias and CPS161

Hi there everyone! Bet you thought that I had dropped off the face of the planet! Well, it's not that I have been lazy, just spending a great week with a very, very dear friend from Toronto last week and then I had to return to work yesterday, but here are a couple of cards that I created yesterday morning.
This first one is for Julee's Mojo Mondays sketch #133 designed by Janette Olen.
I will be using this one over and over I think, maybe even as was drawn and not flipped! I stamped the newly acquired Delightful Dahlias from Papertrey Ink (both sizes) and coloured/shaded with my Co
pics. I added some copper Lumiere to the center and also used my Spica copper pen to add some dots. I love experimenting with floral shading and I think I may need to add some Copic colours to my collection ;) Oh dear...

I also stamped and coloured the two sizes of leaves with the set and wanted to use both of these as well. I like how they look layered on the edge of the flower.
I used the Spellbinder classic ovals for the floral frame and a petite oval for the sentiment. I stamped the sentiment right onto the patterned paper and both of these that I used with this card are from the Cafe Mediterranean stack from DCWV...gorgeous colours! The kraft card front is embossed with a new PTI metal impression plate
Giga Guide Lines, a little hard to see in the photo, but pretty IRL.
The next card I made is for the Card Positioning Systems sketch #161. I used Basic Grey Kioshi papers and PTI sets Beautiful Blooms II and Giga Guide Lines for the sentiment.PTI blush card stock with a Swiss Dots EF, stamped the flowers using SU blush and coral and edged the points of the flowers and made dots around the PTI button centers with another Spica Peach pen also from the set B Spica pens. Looking at the button centers now...well, they need some twine or floss coming out of the button holes because I think they look a little naked!

Thanks for coming back to check out what I have been up to!
cheers!
Chriss
