Vintage-y Happy New Year

Good Monday morning!
Hope that everyone had a great weekend and that you have eaten up all of the Thanksgiving left-overs :)
Here is a card that I made using the Basic Grey "Curio" 6 X 6 paper pad.  Vintage-y and warm.  Flourishes has a sketch challenge going on and this is what I came up with.  You know that there are yellow paperwhites and peachy coloured ones too...well, here are my yellow ones with a blush center.  Flourishes released this stamp set earlier this month and being the flower fanatic that I am and always will be, I had to purchase it.  When I saw the sketch, I thought this would work well with the largest image in the set.  I stamped with Memento Tuxedo black ink and then coloured with Copics.  Then came the cutting.  I placed some dimensional spots behind the cut out image and placed over all of the card layers.  The little orange spots are punched out from the Curio paper.  Below is a close-up of the flowers at a different angle.
I would love to make a bunch of these to send out, but have to simplify the design a little :)
Thanks for taking a peek today!
Cheers, Chriss

Wedding Wishes~Circa 1934

Hello everyone!  Hope you weekend has been enjoyable so far.  I have been making some challenge cards today and here is one of them.  This one is for Card Patterns Sketch #92.  I think this is such an interesting sketch, right up my alley.
I am so in love with this Circa 1934 Cosmo Cricket paper pad...I used it again today and it probably won't be the last time that you see it here :)  I cut a couple of panels of this medallion pattern and placed on top of the pretty aqua polka dot paper and cut 4 strips of narrow silk ribbon that I have in my stash, sewed on and then added the multi colour teeny print to the top of the card and added a narrow strip of the tiny graph pattern and a length of lace.  For my sentiment, I stamped this Verve Wedding Wishes from the Love Story on vintage lace card stock from PTI.  I used the petite Spellbinders ovals to cut out and layered over a scalloped polka dotted one that I inked the edges with Memento Tuxedo black.  I then layered with a rectangle of the same graph pattern.  My flower is stamped directly onto the paper with Verve's flower from Great Friend and cut out.  If you look closely, I layered a Spellbinders Flower shape cut out again using the graph pattern.  The large button is from PTI and in the center I added a circle of the graph pattern paper and some black seed beads.  I like how the Cosmo colours and the silk ribbon make this look like a vintage-y wedding card.  This was such a fun sketch to work with!  I will be adapting for some other cards for sure!
Thanks for taking a peek today,
Cheers!

CCCB32 a Cuppa...or two

Happy turkey day!
The bird is in the oven, the side dishes are done and I had time to make a card!
It has been a while since I have been able to play and I am so happy to be posting something new.  The City Crafter Challenge blog has a little "cuppa" challenge going on right now and here is what I came up with.
I am using some new goodies and others from my stash.  The inspiration for this friends and caffeine card is totally from the new Cosmo Cricket Circa 1934 and I just LOVE it!  I used various papers from the 6 X 6 paper pad and I even stamped my fancy mugs directly onto this delightful teensy print from the Circa pad.  I love how small the print is and that it has all of the colours in the collection.  The stamp is a Stampington & Company that I had in my stash.  It is called "cup collection".  The burlap is cut from a basmati rice bag and I am using the inside of it without any printing on it.  I layered a beautiful Maya Road black on kraft precut doily and a red hand cut out and distressed the edges from the Cosmo paper pad.  The sentiment is from the Just Rite Caffeine/borders set that I stamped in Memento Tux. black ink onto a PTI cs scrap and used a Labels die cut.  The buttons are a hoarded T!m Holtz, a Jenni Bowlin and a beautiful black from U Italy with a funky texture.  I like the way this turned out and will be making more in this same themed style for a few friends that live far away and we can't "have coffee" on a whim.
Thanks for taking a peek,

A whole month!

Hello everyone!  Does time fly or what?  It has been one whole month since I have posted...and what have I been up to you ask?  Well, I finished a custom card order, 550 cards and invites as seen in the photo.  I was a vendor at 2 craft fairs.  I had a birthday.
I am back and will have regular posts.  It feels good to be back because I feel as if I have missed a whole lot out there :)

Hugs,
Chriss
